Which Greek Bottled Water Took the Top Spot in a Global Quality Competition?

March 28, 2025

10 Certified Water Tasters Chose the Best Bottled Waters

The 35th Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting, the world’s most renowned water tasting competition, awarded top honors to 80 water brands from 59 countries across three continents. Among the winners, Theoni Natural Mineral Water earned the highest accolade, securing first place in the "Bottled Non-Carbonated Water" category at the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting 2025. The full list of winners in this category includes:

1st – Theoni Natural Mineral Water, Greece
2nd – Shenandoah Rain, Edinburg, VA
3rd – Eldorado Natural Spring Water, Eldorado Springs, CO
4th – Zaros Natural Mineral Water, Zaros, Crete, Greece
5th – Berkeley Springs, WV Springs

According to an official statement, this remarkable achievement reaffirms—once again, following its 2016 victory—that unparalleled quality is not just an aspiration but a consistent reality. The Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting is the most prestigious and longest-running event in the water industry, celebrating its 35th consecutive year.

Held annually in the United States, the competition attracts entries from around the world. Expert judges assess each water sample based on strict quality criteria, focusing on clarity, mouthfeel, taste, purity, and natural composition. The goal is not only to recognize the best waters but also to set global benchmarks for excellence.

A Water Sourced from Nature’s Pristine Depths

Theoni Natural Mineral Water originates from the Gkoura Spring in the Agrafa Mountains at an elevation of 1,100 meters. Nestled in an untouched natural environment free from human influence, the water emerges pure from geological formations, retaining its authentic mineral composition. Bottled directly at the source without any processing, Theoni’s superior quality is attributed to its unique natural characteristics.

With a pH of 8, Theoni is classified as alkaline water, and its low hardness ensures a smooth and refreshing taste. Its rich mineral profile—containing calcium and magnesium but low in sodium—makes it an excellent choice for daily consumption.
