The Greek island with... moon-like sculptures, made of lava

You may find things and places you have never heard of before on the Greek islands. One of them might be on a remote island in the Aegean Sea, which holds many secrets. Lemnos is the island of contrasts, offering some of Greece's most impressive sights, even if they are not so well known.

When you approach Faraklos Geological Park, a new world will open up before your eyes. A world with strange geological formations and a history unknown to most people, even Greeks.

There, at Cape Faraklo and near the village of Propouli you will find the famous lava sculptures. A landscape that will make you wonder how it was created. Its history is special and very interesting. These volcanic formations are the result of many processes and coincidences.

These are sculptures that look like spheres, are made with the power of nature. It is said, that they were created when lava hit the sea. These impressive and natural sculptures remind us of a scene from another planet, maybe Mars. In fact, you only have to go to Lemnos to admire them.
