Kallos Gallery | Artworks of the Ancient Greek World

November 9, 2016

Kallos is ancient Greek for ‘Beauty’. The name is our touchstone for every artwork we bring to the gallery, and in all we do for visitors and clients.

Founded in 2014 by Baron Lorne Thyssen-Bornemisza, Kallos is the only commercial gallery in the world to specialise exclusively in the artworks of the ancient Greek world, treasured for millennia for their timelessness and universally esteemed beauty. We source only the most extraordinary pieces on the market, outstanding in their cultural significance, artistic merit, and unassailable elegance. Each must be exceptional. And each, in its way, is a breathtaking emblem of the continuous thread joining the distant past to our present day.

Artworks such as these speak to the human spirit today — to mankind’s relationship with art, with beauty, with its own past — no less than they did for Perikles or Aristotle. At Kallos Gallery we showcase that essence, and spread and inform appreciation for the awe-inspiring culture that with every breath strove to capture it.
